Hair Washing Tips For Healthy Shiny Hair:
Scalp Health
A good haircare routine starts with a healthy scalp. Addressing scalp issues such as dandruff, itchiness, or excess oil production can significantly influence hair health. Try incorporating scalp treatments or massages to stimulate blood flow and promote healthy hair growth.
Pre-Shampoo Hair Treatment
Before diving into your regular shampoo routine, pamper your hair with a pre-wash treatment. I swear by the Olaplex No. 3 Hair Repair Perfector. It works by repairing the bonds in your hair. It’s especially beneficial if you have bleached hair. If you prefer a DIY approach, you can warm up coconut oil—a great natural oil for your hair—apply it generously to your hair. Let it soak for a few hours, then shampoo as usual.
Avoid Overwashing
Overwashing can strip your hair of its natural oils, and cause excessive dryness. Try to wash your hair just once or twice a week, using a high-quality shampoo. Focus on massaging the scalp rather than the ends to minimize breakage.
I’ve been using the Redken All Soft Shampoo and Conditioner for years; it lathers and cleanses very well and also leaves my hair very soft.
Use a Deep Conditioner/Hair Mask
To achieve that silky, shiny look, regular conditioning isn’t enough. Incorporate a high-quality hair mask or deep conditioner into your routine at least once a week. Currently, my go-to is the Arvazallia Hydrating Argan Oil Hair Mask.

Wet Hair Care Tips:
Be Gentle with Your Hair
Instead of using a regular towel, go for a gentler microfiber or even a soft cotton T-shirt to dry your hair. To prevent breakage, use a Wet Brush, starting from the ends and working your way up.
Use Leave-in Treatments
Apply a leave-in conditioner or spray to your damp hair to prevent frizz. I’ve been loving the It’s a 10 Leave-in Miracle Plus Keratin. For split ends, apply an oil to your ends. Some of my favorite oils are the Shea Moisture Argan Oil and the Briogeo Strengthening Treatment.
Hair Styling Tips:
Protect Your Hair From the Heat:
We all love a fresh blowout. Just make sure to protect your hair from heat damage by always using a heat protectant. My go-to heat protectants are the Bumble & Bumble Invisible Oil Primer and the L’Oréal Sleek It Iron Heatspray.
Minimize Heat Exposure:
Allow your hair to air dry halfway before using a blow dryer. As an extra step, run a flat iron over your hair before curling for added shine.
Limit Heat Styling Frequency:
While it may be tempting to style your hair with hot tools regularly, try to limit the frequency. Embrace natural hairstyles or alternative styling methods on non-heat styling days to give your hair a chance to recover and maintain its health.
